Social Calendar
Our social calendar ensures that our brothers have something to do after they are done with their academic priorities. Here are some of the events we have throughout the school year:
Football Tailgates
The University of Georgia hosts 7-8 home football games every fall. The chapter proudly hosts a tailgate on our front yard for each one. The chapter will make sure that the house is clean and in good order. Beverages will be provided, with occasional catered meals for select games.
We encourage parents and alumni to attend each and every game to support our Georgia Bulldogs.
Parents Weekend
Every year, we choose one home game to play host to the annual Theta Chi Parents' Weekend. We have food catered, and we welcome the parents to see our house, meet our brothers and the executive council, and learn about the accomplishments we have achieved as a chapter and as individual brothers in the past year.
MooCoo Weekend
In the spring, the chapter hosts our annual band party, MooCoo Weekend, at our house. MooCoo Weekend is named after the famous MooCoo tree, which resides on the front lawn of Theta Chi. The MooCoo tree is the only White Dutch Elm east of the Mississippi River. MooCoo Weekend has played hosts to an assortment of different bands and artists, including Pretty Lights, Conspirator, Galactic, Big Gigantic, and Travis Porter. MooCoo Weekend is hosted in our house band room, the largest on campus. Our band room is the site that Luke Bryan filmed his first music video for the song, "All My Friends Say."
Spring Formal
Every year, our chapter has the Red Carnation Ball, where we travel to a new city and host a formal dinner and weekend of fun and memories. Some of our past locations are Charleston, Hilton Head, Savannah, New Orleans, and Nashville.
Socials
We have a full calendar of socials each semester where Theta Chi pairs with a sorority and hosts a themed event at our house. This is a great way for our brothers to meet people from different organizations around campus. This year these events have been slightly different due to COVID-19, we now host these events at third-party venues with enough space to allow for social distancing for large groups of people.
Date Nights
Each semester, our chapter hosts several date nights. On these date nights, each brother brings a date and enjoys the events planned by our social chairmen. In the past, we have hosted events that include rodeos, paintball, Monster Jam, and even Atlanta Hawks, Falcons, and Braves games. All of this is decided as a group by our chapter, year to year.
Our semi-formal date nights take place once each semester. These are usually our most popular date nights, and all of the brothers always have a great time.
Mountain Weekend
The chapter welcomes the arrival of Spring each year by spending a weekend in the mountains, renting cabins in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
